Your Role

As a Backend Software Engineer on the Client Group team, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the systems that power our client-facing operations. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable Golang microservices responsible for eligibility, coverage, billing, and client-facing applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance robust Golang microservices for critical client-facing systems.
• Automate operational workflows to ensure data accuracy and streamline processes.
• Design and implement self-service tools for finance, operations, and client teams.
• Guarantee data integrity, consistency, and traceability for internal decision-making and external reporting.
• Contribute to client-facing APIs, facilitating seamless data exchange between Virta and our customers.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience delivering high-quality backend code in production environments.
• Proven experience building and maintaining microservices in production.
• Strong understanding of data and event-based architectures.
• Proficiency in Golang and experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.

Compensation & Location

• Competitive salary range: $145,491 - $187,900 (location-based).
• Remote-first company with office hubs in Denver and San Francisco.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of professional experience developing and deploying backend systems in a production environment.
• Proven experience building and maintaining microservices using Golang.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with API design and development.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Technical Development

• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
