About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Beauty Writer to join our team. You will be responsible for covering all things beauty on The Strategist, from daily updates to in-depth coverage of key shopping events like Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Responsibilities

• Develop and pitch story ideas, conceiving of compelling angles from The Strategist's unique perspective.
• Write engaging and informative short and long-form articles and reviews, covering a range of beauty topics.
• Stay abreast of the latest beauty news, trends, and product launches, actively testing and evaluating new releases.
• Monitor social media for breaking news and emerging trends within the beauty community.
• Collaborate with the senior editor overseeing beauty coverage to ensure alignment with editorial strategy.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in the beauty industry with a deep understanding of products, trends, and key players.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities, with a knack for crafting clear, concise, and engaging content.

Ecommerce Expertise

• Maintain a strong understanding of the ecommerce landscape, including shopping platforms, deals, and consumer behavior.
• Identify and highlight compelling shopping opportunities for readers, emphasizing value and smart purchasing decisions.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with the senior editor overseeing beauty coverage, receiving feedback and guidance on assignments.
• Collaborate with other teams within Vox Media, as needed, to ensure cohesive brand messaging and content strategy.
• Actively monitor social media channels to identify trending topics and breaking news within the beauty industry.
