Job Description

Cross-Functional Engineering Lead (Platform Team)

Aragon is a remote-first organization building essential tooling for on-chain organizations. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Engineering Lead to join our Platform Team and guide our engineering efforts across frontend, backend, smart contracts, and SRE/DevOps.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate engineering efforts across multiple disciplines, ensuring technical alignment and high-quality deliverables.
  • Define and prioritize technical work, balancing roadmap features with critical refactoring and maintenance.
  • Champion a culture of production excellence by promoting E2E production health through best practices and principles.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering their growth and contributing to the documentation of critical knowledge.
  • Actively participate in the development of Aragon OSx, contributing code and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Senior-level experience in frontend development (JS/TS, React) or backend development (Node/TS), or both.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/alerting systems, and incident handling processes.
  • Proven experience working on open-source projects, ideally within the blockchain or web3 ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated success in a technical leadership role (Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, etc.).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, Git workflows, and tools like Jira and GitHub.

Qualifications

Aragon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Lead to join our Platform Team.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Proven track record: 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in either frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript, React) or backend (Node.js/TypeScript) development, or a combination of both.
  • Technical leadership: Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, setting technical direction, and driving project success.
  • DevOps expertise: Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and incident management practices.
  • Open source contributor: Experience contributing to open-source projects, preferably within the blockchain or web3 ecosystem.
  • Agile mindset: Familiarity with agile methodologies, Git workflows, and tools like Jira and GitHub.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with smart contract development.
  • Deep understanding of decentralized applications (dApps).
  • Passion for building innovative and impactful tools for the decentralized future.

Technical Leadership

  • Oversee the technical execution of platform features, ensuring alignment across frontend, backend, smart contracts, and infrastructure.
  • Define and champion best practices for development, deployment, and monitoring, fostering a culture of reliability and high-quality code.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to translate user needs into technical specifications and solutions.

Team Management & Development

  • Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and documentation within the team, ensuring critical information is readily accessible.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Project Delivery

  • Prioritize and manage the technical roadmap, balancing feature development with ongoing maintenance and technical debt reduction.
  • Effectively communicate project status and roadblocks to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Drive the successful delivery of platform features within agreed-upon timelines and quality standards.
