The Role
As a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing robust infrastructure and build/release pipelines. You will collaborate closely with Product to drive product roadmaps and empower users to build and deliver software with enhanced security and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement infrastructure and build/release pipelines, focusing on speed, security, performance, and scalability.
- Extend and improve existing processes and systems to streamline and optimize pipeline operations.
- Collaborate with Product to integrate DevSecOps tools and services, enabling automated security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Automate application deployment using container technology and cloud-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement and enhance observability using MELT (Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces) to ensure system health and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex, remote environments, including Kubernetes and airgapped systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Python.
- Deep understanding of cloud-based CI/CD pipelines and their components.
- Expertise in container technology, particularly Kubernetes and Github.
- Strong grasp of DevSecOps principles and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with networking and runtime troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with secure SDLC practices and software vulnerability management.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Kubernetes in edge environments.
- Expertise in packaging software for on-prem and edge deployments.
- Knowledge of securing clouds, containers, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience with securing SDLC pipelines.
- Familiarity with SBOM generation tools and formats.
- Experience with self-hosted LLMs.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a DevOps engineering role, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm. Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and cloud-based CI/CD platforms. Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and best practices.
- Automation: Demonstrated ability to automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and security testing. Experience with scripting languages like Python for automation tasks.
- Troubleshooting: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in remote environments, including Kubernetes and airgapped systems.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and security.
Desirable:
- Experience with Kubernetes in edge environments.
- Expertise in packaging software for on-premise and edge deployments.
- Deep understanding of cloud security best practices, container security, and securing Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience with securing SDLC pipelines and implementing vulnerability management practices.
- Familiarity with SBOM generation tools and formats.
- Experience with self-hosted Large Language Models (LLMs).
Design and Implement Infrastructure
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
- Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
- Implement and optimize containerization strategies using technologies like Kubernetes.
Drive Automation and Security
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
- Integrate DevSecOps tools and practices to ensure secure software development lifecycle.
- Implement and monitor security controls within infrastructure and pipelines.
Collaborate and Support
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand their needs and provide technical guidance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal DevOps processes and documentation.
Selection Process
