About the Role

We are seeking a creative and passionate Social Media Content Creator to join our growing team. You will be the voice and face of RCA across various platforms, crafting engaging content and building a vibrant online community.

Responsibilities:

• Develop platform-specific content for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and YouTube, including video editing.
• Maintain and manage a content calendar for consistent and timely posting.
• Engage with followers through comments and direct messages, fostering a strong community.
• Stay abreast of social media trends and creatively incorporate them into our content strategy.
• Monitor analytics and adapt strategies to optimize reach and engagement.
• Collaborate with the RCA team to brainstorm and execute fresh content ideas.
• Tailor content to suit platform algorithms and viewer preferences.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in content creation or social media management.
• Minimum 1200 online chess rating on platforms like Chess.com or Lichess.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, tools, trends, and best practices.
• Proactive mindset and a willingness to learn and grow within a team.
• Familiarity with chess terminology and concepts.

Qualifications

Required:

Key Responsibilities

Content Development:

• Conceptualize and create engaging social media content (text, images, videos) tailored for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
• Edit videos for social media platforms, ensuring high quality and adherence to brand guidelines.

Community Management:

• Respond to comments and direct messages promptly and professionally, fostering a positive and interactive community.
• Monitor social media channels for mentions and engage with relevant conversations.

Content Strategy & Optimization:

• Develop and maintain a content calendar, ensuring consistent posting and alignment with RCA's marketing goals.
• Stay informed about social media trends and best practices, adapting content strategies accordingly.
• Analyze social media performance metrics and use insights to optimize content and engagement.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Collaborate with the RCA team to brainstorm new content ideas and ensure alignment with overall brand messaging.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding content plans, progress, and performance updates.

Remote Chess Academy: Social Media Content Creator Selection Process

Application Review:

• Candidates will be screened based on their resume, cover letter, and online chess rating.

Initial Screening:

• Shortlisted candidates will participate in a brief phone interview to assess their communication skills, passion for chess, and understanding of social media trends.

Creative Assessment:

• Selected candidates will be tasked with creating a sample social media post (video or image) based on a provided theme related to chess. This will evaluate their creativity, content creation skills, and ability to tailor content for a specific platform.

Final Interview:

• Top candidates will be invited for a final interview with the RCA team. This will involve a discussion about their experience, social media strategy, and vision for RCA's online presence.

Decision & Onboarding:

• The hiring manager will make the final decision based on the candidate's performance throughout the selection process. Successful candidates will undergo a standard onboarding process.
