Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced EMEA Solutions Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the technical expert, educating customers on the capabilities and benefits of TiDB, guiding them through design, deployment, and optimization of their TiDB implementations. You will lead Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements, develop tailored architectural solutions, and provide technical input on RFPs and customer technical requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate customers on TiDB's features and benefits through presentations, workshops, and technical documentation.
  • Guide customers through the design, deployment, and optimization of TiDB solutions.
  • Lead PoC engagements, demonstrating TiDB's capabilities and tailoring solutions to specific customer needs.
  • Provide technical expertise on RFPs and customer technical requirements.
  • Develop and deliver compelling technical content, presentations, and workshops.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in distributed database technology.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve TiDB products and positioning.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Database Administration, or Software Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of clustering technologies, Linux system administration, and network configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Golang, Shell scripting).
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for customer success.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Database Administration, or Software Engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • In-depth understanding of clustering technologies, Linux system administration, and network configuration.
    • Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
    • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Golang, Shell scripting).
  • Communication & Problem Solving:
    • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for customer success.

Preferred:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of distributed database concepts and architectures.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical guidance to EMEA customers on PingCAP's TiDB database, encompassing its capabilities, benefits, and best practices.
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Collaborate with customers to design, deploy, and optimize TiDB solutions tailored to their specific needs and business requirements.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC) Leadership: Lead PoC engagements, demonstrating TiDB's value proposition and showcasing its capabilities in real-world scenarios.
  • Technical Sales Support: Provide technical expertise to the sales team, contributing to RFP responses, addressing customer technical inquiries, and developing compelling technical presentations.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Advocacy: Develop and deliver technical content, presentations, and workshops to educate customers and partners about TiDB. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in distributed database technology.
  • Customer Success: Act as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring their successful adoption and utilization of TiDB, and fostering long-term relationships.
