Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary teams in providing technical assistance to municipalities for water infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of community water or wastewater infrastructure needs.
- Develop comprehensive planning documents and deliver detailed project designs.
- Effectively communicate with community stakeholders, ensuring project success.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of team expertise.
- Support various projects related to water and wastewater treatment technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in water or wastewater system planning and design.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, hydraulic analysis, process design, and asset management software.
Compensation and Benefits
ERG offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $170,000 per year, commensurate with experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life insurance, 401k plan with profit sharing, and generous paid time off.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of proven experience in water or wastewater system planning and design is essential.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex infrastructure projects.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state is mandatory.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software, hydraulic analysis tools, process design software, and asset management systems is required.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologies and regulatory requirements.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Proven ability to lead meetings, present technical information clearly, and mentor junior staff.
Technical Expertise
- Provide technical leadership on water and wastewater infrastructure projects, encompassing planning, design, and implementation.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of community water and wastewater systems, identifying needs and developing strategic plans.
- Develop detailed engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
Project Management
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring efficient execution and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Lead client meetings, effectively communicating project progress, technical details, and addressing stakeholder concerns.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
Team Development & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and technical expertise.
- Collaborate effectively with other ERG departments and external partners to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in the water and wastewater industry.
