Job Description

Senior UI Designer

CourtAvenue is seeking a talented and experienced Senior UI Designer to join our team on a 4-month contract basis. As a digital transformation company, we are passionate about creating innovative and user-centric digital experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain scalable design systems for our digital platforms.
  • Develop high-quality user interfaces that align with user needs, business objectives, and brand identity.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders.
  • Translate complex concepts into intuitive and visually appealing design solutions.
  • Champion design best practices and accessibility standards throughout the design process.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and clients.
  • Contribute to user testing initiatives and refine design based on user feedback.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in digital product design.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design work.
  • Proficiency in digital design systems, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.

Details:

  • This is a 40-hour/week contract position for a duration of 4 months.
  • The ideal candidate will be based in the Central or Eastern Time zone.
  • Background check and drug screening are required (expenses covered by CourtAvenue).

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in digital product design, with a proven track record of creating user-centered designs for web and mobile platforms.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), and prototyping tools.
  • Experience with design systems and component libraries.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Design & Development

  • Design and maintain scalable design systems for digital platforms, ensuring consistency and efficiency across projects.
  • Develop user interfaces for a variety of digital products, prioritizing user needs, business objectives, and brand identity.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless user experiences.
  • Translate complex information and user needs into clear, intuitive, and visually appealing design solutions.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Advocate for design best practices and accessibility standards within the team and across the organization.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and clients, effectively communicating design decisions.
  • Participate in user testing initiatives, gathering feedback and iterating on designs based on user insights.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal design processes and workflows.

Selection Process

Interested candidates submit their resume and portfolio for the Senior Designer, UI position at CourtAvenue. A review of applications begins, focusing on relevant experience, skills, and portfolio quality. Shortlisted candidates are invited for a virtual interview with the hiring manager, where their design process, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills are assessed.

Following the initial interview, top candidates participate in a design challenge, requiring them to conceptualize and present a solution for a specific user interface problem. Finalists then engage in a second interview with a panel of designers and stakeholders, discussing their design approach, collaboration style, and alignment with CourtAvenue's values. The selection process concludes with a final decision based on the candidate's overall performance, portfolio, and cultural fit.
