About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of AllTrails. You will lead the design and development of best-in-class experiences across our web, iOS, and Android platforms, focusing on visual design, interaction, interface design, and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of end-to-end user experiences, conducting research, defining scope, and managing priorities.
• Collaborate closely with product management, research, content, data, and engineering teams to deliver impactful product solutions.
• Contribute to the design system and foster a collaborative and innovative design culture.
• Utilize data-driven insights, research, and usability testing to inform design decisions and ensure user-centered design.
• Champion inclusive design practices, considering internationalization, accessibility, and multi-language needs.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of proven experience designing consumer-facing iOS, Android, and web products.
• Exceptional design skills across UX, visual design, and interaction, with a strong product sensibility.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering.
• Experience using data and research to inform design decisions and iterate on solutions.
• Familiarity with inclusive design principles and practices.
• Self-motivated, open-minded team player with a humble and empathetic working style.
• Passion for the outdoors and helping people explore new trails.

Compensation

$157,500 - $177,500 per year, with a starting salary determined based on skills, experience, and credentials.

Qualifications

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Product Designer to join our growing team.

Required:

• 5-7 years of proven experience designing consumer-facing products for iOS, Android, and web platforms.
• Exceptional design skills encompassing UX, visual design, and interaction, demonstrating a strong product sensibility.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams.
• Data-driven approach to design, utilizing research, metrics, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
• Experience implementing inclusive design practices considering internationalization, accessibility, and multi-language support.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
• Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects demonstrating your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Design Initiatives: Spearhead the design and development of innovative features and experiences for AllTrails' web, iOS, and Android platforms.
• User-Centered Design: Conduct user research, analyze data, and leverage insights to inform design decisions, ensuring a user-centric approach.
• Visual & Interaction Design: Craft compelling visual designs, intuitive interactions, and seamless user flows that enhance the overall user experience.
• Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, research, and content to ensure alignment and successful execution of design projects.
• Design System & Best Practices: Contribute to the development and maintenance of AllTrails' design system, promoting consistency and scalability across all platforms.
• Prototyping & Iteration: Create high-fidelity prototypes to test and iterate on design concepts, gathering feedback and refining designs based on user testing and data analysis.

AllTrails Senior Product Designer Hiring Workflow

1. Application Review: Candidates submit their resume and portfolio through the job portal. The AI Agent automatically screens applications based on keywords, skills, and experience matching the job description.

2. Initial Screening: Qualified candidates are invited for a 30-minute phone interview with a recruiter to discuss their experience, motivations, and alignment with AllTrails' culture.

3. Design Challenge: Shortlisted candidates complete a design challenge focused on a real-world AllTrails problem. This allows the team to assess their design thinking, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills.

4. Portfolio Review: The design team reviews the candidate's portfolio in detail, focusing on their past work, design process, and ability to create user-centered solutions.

5. Technical Interview: Candidates participate in a technical interview with a senior engineer to discuss their understanding of design systems, accessibility, and collaboration with development teams.

6. Final Round Interview: Top candidates meet with the hiring manager and other key stakeholders for a final interview to discuss their vision for the role, their contributions to the team, and their cultural fit within AllTrails.

7. Decision & Offer: The hiring team makes a final decision based on the candidate's performance throughout the process. A formal offer is extended to the selected candidate.
