Job Description

Manager, Business Intelligence (Finance)

The Bullish Group (Bullish Exchange, Bullish Capital, CoinDesk) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of Business Intelligence to lead our finance team's data science and analytics efforts. This role will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision making and strategic initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data scientists and analysts in developing financial models, analytical tools, and machine learning solutions.
  • Design and implement predictive analytics models for financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to identify business needs and translate them into actionable data-driven insights.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of dynamic dashboards and visualization tools to effectively communicate key performance indicators and trends.
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, influencing key business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data science, financial analytics, or a similar role.
  • Proven expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau) and programming languages (Python, R, SQL).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.

Compensation:

  • Anticipated base salary: $160,000 - $220,000
  • Discretionary annual target bonus + performance incentives/benefits

This position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the office near Union Square, NYC.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data science, financial analytics, or a similar role is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proven expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics is essential.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and programming languages including Python, R, and SQL is required.

Other Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are crucial for success in this role.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is essential.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of data scientists and analysts is preferred.

Financial Modeling & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Leverage data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.

Data Science & Machine Learning

  • Lead a team of data scientists and analysts in the design and implementation of machine learning models.
  • Utilize predictive analytics to forecast financial outcomes and support strategic decision-making.
  • Explore and implement cutting-edge data science techniques to enhance financial modeling and analysis capabilities.

Data Visualization & Reporting

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports to visualize key financial metrics.
  • Communicate complex financial data in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting and visualization tools.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner closely with finance, operations, and other relevant teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in data science and financial analytics.
