Email Marketing Manager - Afar

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Email Marketing Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing email marketing strategies that drive engagement, acquisition, and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the production and lifecycle optimization of our email newsletter (30%)
  • Manage all aspects of email marketing campaigns, including growth acquisition, onboarding, winback, and retention series (70%)
  • Develop and analyze comprehensive reports to provide actionable insights and optimize campaign performance
  • Maintain and manage email lists, ensuring best practices for list hygiene and segmentation

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of proven experience in email marketing, with a focus on lifecycle management and automation
  • Strong technical proficiency with SaaS tools, email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo), Canva, and automation workflows
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Adaptable, accountable, and collaborative individual with a history of successfully owning processes

Compensation

$80,000 - $95,000 per year

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in email marketing, specifically in lifecycle management and automation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using SaaS tools, email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo), and design tools like Canva.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to optimize campaign performance.
  • Experience managing and segmenting email lists, ensuring best practices for list hygiene and deliverability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the travel or media industry.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and personalization strategies.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS for email template design.

Email Marketing Manager Responsibilities at Afar

  • Newsletter Production & Optimization: Oversee the creation and execution of engaging email newsletters, focusing on content strategy, design, and performance optimization.
  • Lifecycle Marketing Campaigns: Develop and manage targeted email campaigns across the customer lifecycle, including welcome sequences, winback campaigns, and retention initiatives.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Track key email marketing metrics, analyze campaign performance, and generate insightful reports to inform strategic decision-making.
  • List Management & Deliverability: Maintain healthy email lists through rigorous segmentation and hygiene practices, ensuring optimal deliverability rates and email engagement.
  • Collaboration & Process Ownership: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including content, design, and product, to ensure seamless campaign execution and process improvement.

Selection Process
