Job Summary:
The Community Philanthropy Manager, Midlevel Giving, is a vital role focused on cultivating and stewarding relationships with high-level donors ($1,000+). This position will manage a portfolio of donors, secure annual and increased support, and implement innovative strategies to enhance the donor experience. Collaboration with internal teams and the development of engaging donor opportunities are key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a strategic portfolio of high-level donors, ensuring consistent communication and relationship building.
- Conduct regular calls and virtual visits with donors, understanding their philanthropic interests and motivations.
- Develop and execute compelling proposals and stewardship plans to secure annual and increased gifts.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to implement effective mail and digital fundraising strategies.
- Design and execute quarterly engagement opportunities for donors, fostering a sense of community and impact.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing a donor portfolio and closing annual gifts.
- Demonstrated proficiency in donor communication and relationship management.
- Strong project management, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Experience utilizing fundraising database software.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, union position (CWA) with a competitive salary range of $79,040 - $95,680 per year. A comprehensive benefits package is included, encompassing health insurance, retirement plan, vacation time, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., non-profit management, communications, fundraising) or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in donor relations and fundraising, specifically managing a portfolio of mid-level donors ($1,000+).
- Proven track record of securing annual gifts and cultivating donor relationships.
- Experience developing and executing successful fundraising strategies, including mail and digital campaigns.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using fundraising database software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for The Trevor Project's mission and commitment to serving LGBTQ+ youth.
Donor Relationship Management
- Cultivate and manage a portfolio of mid-level donors ($1,000+).
- Conduct regular communication with donors through phone calls, virtual meetings, and personalized correspondence.
- Build strong relationships with donors based on trust, transparency, and shared values.
- Identify and cultivate potential major gift prospects within the portfolio.
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement strategies to increase annual giving from existing donors.
- Collaborate with the development team to create compelling fundraising materials and campaigns.
- Track donor engagement and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies.
- Manage donor recognition and stewardship initiatives.
Team Collaboration & Engagement
- Partner with marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and donor engagement.
- Work closely with program staff to highlight the impact of donor support.
- Contribute to the development and execution of donor events and engagement opportunities.
- Stay informed about best practices in donor relations and fundraising.
Selection Process
Applicants for the Community Philanthropy Manager, Midlevel Giving position will first submit their resume and cover letter through the online portal. Qualified candidates will then be invited for a phone interview with a member of the Human Resources team. This interview will focus on the candidate's experience in donor relations, fundraising, and project management.
Successful candidates from the phone interview will be invited to participate in a virtual interview with the hiring manager and a member of the Development team. This interview will delve deeper into the candidate's skills and experience, as well as their passion for The Trevor Project's mission.
The final stage of the selection process will involve a virtual meeting with a panel of stakeholders, including senior leadership and members of the Development team. This meeting will provide candidates with an opportunity to showcase their abilities and learn more about the role and The Trevor Project.
