Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and passionate UI/UX Product Designer to join our growing team. As a full-time in-house designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience for our platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the product team to design end-to-end UX for our dispatch and mapping platform.
  • Own the product design process, including wireframing, user needs analysis, problem framing, and design backlog management.
  • Design for both mobile and web, encompassing modals, transitions, and interactions.
  • Maintain a clean and scalable Figma system.
  • Collaborate effectively with developers to ensure accurate and efficient handoff.
  • Identify design gaps and propose innovative solutions for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in UI/UX or Product Design.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Proven experience collaborating with remote development teams.
  • Ability to manage own design workflow, timeline, and scope independently.
  • Familiarity with Adobe XD and Creative Cloud.
  • Proficiency in Figma and other modern design tools.

Compensation:

  • $30,000 - $37,000 USD per year (paid monthly).
  • Optional 1-2 paid trips per year to Toronto or India.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven Experience: 3+ years of demonstrable experience in UI/UX or Product Design, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Design Proficiency: Mastery of Figma and other modern design tools, including Adobe XD and Creative Cloud.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Experience working effectively with remote development teams and a strong understanding of the design handoff process.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling clear and concise collaboration with team members.
  • Ownership Mindset: Ability to manage your own design workflow, timelines, and scope effectively.
  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: A keen eye for identifying design gaps and proposing innovative solutions to improve user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Develop User Experiences: Collaborate with the product team to design intuitive and user-friendly experiences for CrewVision's dispatch and mapping platform across web and mobile interfaces.
  • Own the Design Process: Lead the design process from user needs identification and problem framing to wireframing, prototyping, and design backlog management.
  • Visual Design & Interaction: Create visually appealing and engaging designs, focusing on mobile-first principles, modals, transitions, and interactive elements.
  • Maintain Design Systems: Ensure a clean and scalable Figma system, documenting design decisions and maintaining consistency across all CrewVision products.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to developers, ensuring accurate and efficient handoff for implementation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify design gaps and propose solutions to enhance user experience and product functionality.

Selection Process

CrewVision UI/UX Product Designer Hiring Workflow

1. Application Review:

Candidates submit their resume and portfolio through the job portal. The CrewVision team reviews applications for relevant experience, skills, and portfolio quality.

2. Initial Screening:

Shortlisted candidates are contacted for a brief phone interview to assess communication skills, cultural fit, and basic understanding of the role.

3. Design Challenge:

Selected candidates receive a design challenge related to CrewVision's platform. This allows the team to evaluate their problem-solving abilities, design thinking, and technical skills.

4. Portfolio Review & Interview:

Candidates present their design challenge solutions and discuss their portfolio in detail with the hiring manager and design team. This stage focuses on design process, user-centered approach, and communication.

5. Final Interview:

Top candidates participate in a final interview with key stakeholders, including the CEO, to assess cultural fit, team dynamics, and long-term potential.

6. Offer & Onboarding:

The chosen candidate receives a formal offer outlining compensation and benefits. Upon acceptance, the onboarding process begins, including introductions to the team, project assignments, and training.
