About the Role

Sprinto is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic SDET Intern to join our growing team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in software quality assurance while contributing to real-world projects. You will work closely with developers and senior QA engineers, learning the ins and outs of automation, debugging, and test design.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining automated test suites for UI, API, and integration layers.
• Collaborate with mentors to analyze product requirements and define testing needs.
• Identify areas for test coverage improvement and work to reduce unstable test cases.
• Participate in manual testing for new features and regression cycles alongside automation efforts.
• Work with developers, QA specialists, and product teams to validate workflows and functionality.

Qualifications

• Basic programming knowledge (JavaScript/Node.js preferred, but Python, Java, or similar languages are acceptable).
• Strong desire to understand system behavior and eagerness to learn automation testing.
• Familiarity with at least one scripting or testing framework (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Jest, PyTest).
• Understanding of fundamental software testing principles, including test cases, assertions, and debugging.
• Enthusiasm for adopting new tools and contributing in a fast-paced product environment.

Qualifications

Education:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

• Programming: Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript/Node.js preferred, Python, Java, or similar languages acceptable).
• Testing Frameworks: Familiarity with at least one scripting or testing framework (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Jest, PyTest).
• Software Testing Principles: Understanding of fundamental software testing concepts including test cases, assertions, and debugging.

SDET Intern Responsibilities

• Contribute to Test Automation: Assist in developing and maintaining automated test suites for various software layers, including UI, API, and integration.
• Analyze and Derive Testing Needs: Collaborate with mentors to understand product requirements and translate them into comprehensive testing strategies.
• Enhance Test Coverage: Identify areas for improvement in test coverage and work towards reducing unstable test cases, ensuring robust testing practices.
• Participate in Manual Testing: Engage in manual testing activities for new features and regression cycles, complementing the automated testing efforts.
• Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with developers, QA specialists, and product teams to validate workflows, functionalities, and ensure product quality.

Sprinto's hiring process for the SDET Intern role begins with a review of applications. Candidates whose qualifications align with the requirements will be invited for a technical phone screening. This initial conversation will assess the candidate's programming knowledge, understanding of testing principles, and familiarity with relevant frameworks.

Successful candidates will then participate in a virtual interview with the team, focusing on their problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and passion for software quality. A practical coding challenge may also be incorporated to evaluate the candidate's hands-on experience.

Finally, shortlisted candidates will be invited for a final interview with senior leadership to discuss their career aspirations and cultural fit within Sprinto.
